Traditional Japanese Martial Arts

Ryo Onishi was born in Osaka, Japan, where, from an early age started studying traditional Japanese martial arts (beginning with Kendo, Gojyu Ryu Karate, Judo & Hiryu kai). Over time however, these interests have become deeper and more refined, and now mostly find their focus in Bujinkan Taijutsu.

-Bujinkan-

We study and train in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu as taught by our Soke (grandmaster) Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi. Dr. Hatsumi is Grandmaster of nine interrelated traditional Japanese martial arts. Taken together, nine schools form a comprehensive and coherent martial system which is based on real combat experience. The history of Dr.Hatsumi's heritage dates back to the 12th century.

Ryo has been living in the UK for the last decade during which he has had the opportunity to study under the tutelage of some of Europe’s leading Bujinkan exponents. People such as Graham Ramsden, Peter King, Pedro Fleitas, Sandy Marwick & Kacem Zoughari. As well as teaching at his own Dojo, he also teaches at Sandy’s class in Hemel Hempstead.

Ryo Currently holds rank of Shidoshi in Bujinkan.
